THE TENNESSEE HISTORICAL COMMISSION ANNOUNCED TODAY (FRIDAY) THE ADDITION OF EIGHT PROPERTIES TO THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES.  AMONG THE EIGHT, TWO ARE IN OUR LOCAL AREA.  THE BANK OF LORETTO IN LAWRENCE COUNTY WHICH WAS CHARTERED IN 1910 AND THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN LEWISBURG ALSO KNOWN AS THE WATER STREET ABBEY, CONSTRUCTED IN 1910. THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES IS THE NATION'S OFFICIAL LIST OF CULTURAL RESOURCES WORTHY OF PRESERVATION.  FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT TN HISTORICAL COMMISSION DOT ORG.
