A WELFARE CHECK RESULTED IN A DRUG ARREST WEDNESDAY IN LIMESTONE COUNTY.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, THE LIMESTONE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT RECEIVED A CALL REGARDING A MALE AND FEMALE WHO WERE PASSED OUT INSIDE A VEHICLE AT THE INTERSECTION OF SHAW ROAD AND POPULAR POINT ROAD.  DEPUTIES ALONG WITH ATHENS LIMESTONE EMS RESPONDED AND UPON ARRIVAL FOUND PHILLIP HAGGENMAKER AND JESSICA PYLANT NEAR A VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED IN THE DITCH. BOTH SUBJECTS APPEARED TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF NARCOTICS. HAGGENMAKER WAS FOUND WITH OVER AN OUNCE OF METHAMPHETAMINE ALONG WITH SOME XANAX BARS. A SMALL AMOUNT OF METHAMPHETAMINE WAS ALSO FOUND ON PLYANT.  IN ADDITION, INSIDE THE CAR, A LOADED PISTOL, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, NARCOTICS AND CASH WERE SEIZED. BOTH FACE SEVERAL DRUG CHARGES INCLUDING POSSESSION AND TRAFFICKING.
