LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF JOHN MYERS PRESENTED AN INFORMATIVE PROGRAM AT THE LAWRENCEBURG ROTARY CLUB MEETING TODAY (FRIDAY). MYERS SPOKE OF SEVERAL ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES HE IMPLEMENTED SINCE HIS ELECTION IN SEPTEMBER 2018 ALONG WITH THE DEPARTMENT’S ACTIVITIES TO ADDRESS DRUG PROBLEMS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY. MYERS STATED THAT THE DRUG OF CHOICE IN OUR COMMUNITY IS METHAMPHETAMINE WHICH, IN HIS OPINION, IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF CRIME IN OUR COMMUNITY. MYERS ALSO DISCUSSED THE OVERCROWDING AT THE JAIL AND CONCLUDED BY COMPLIMENTING THE LAWRENCE COUNTY DRUG COALITION FOR THEIR EFFORTS IN WORKING WITH LOCAL INMATES AND OTHER DRUG USERS.
