TUSCUMBIA'S FIRE CHIEF RODNEY MCANALLY WAS ARRESTED FRIDAY (TODAY) AFTER A GRAND JURY INDICTMENT CHARGED HIM WITH SECOND DEGREE THEFT AND USING HIS OFFICIAL POSITION FOR PERSONAL GAIN.  ACCORDING TO THE TIMES DAILY, THE FIRE CHIEF WAS PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE WITH PAY EARLY THIS WEEK, WHILE HE WAS BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE WHO EXECUTED A SEARCH WARRANT ON MCANALLY'S OFFICE ON JANUARY 3RD.  MCANALLY TURNED HIMSELF IN AT THE COLBERT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AND WAS RELEASED ON AN 18,500 DOLLAR BOND.  MAYOR KERRY UNDERWOOD ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY THAT ASSISTANT CHIEF DAVID PATE WILL BE IN CHARGE WHILE MCANALLY IS ON LEAVE.
