THE GILES COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE COMMITTEE MET RECENTLY TO DISCUSS THE AMBULANCE HEADQUARTERS. AFTER A LENGTHY DISCUSSION ON THE POSSIBILITY OF RENOVATING THE CURRENT BUILDING, COMMITTEE MEMBERS GAVE AMBULANCE DIRECTOR ROY GRIGGS PERMISSION TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER SITE. GRIGGS ADVISED A SITE NEAR THE BYPASS ON MINOR HILL ROAD WOULD GIVE THE AMBULANCE SERVICE RAPID RESPONSE TIME. SUBSTATIONS IN ELKTON AND ON HIGHWAY 31 NORTH HAVE PROVIDED MORE ROOM, AND THE CITY OF MINOR HILL IS AWAITING WORD ON A GRANT TO HELP BUILD A SUBSTATION THERE. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT GRIGGS WILL BRING A POTENTIAL SITE OR SITES TO THE AMBULANCE SERVICE COMMITTEE FOR REVIEW.
