A STOLEN VEHICLE OUT OF LORETTO WAS FOUND WITH SEVERAL GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE ON FRIDAY.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, OFFICERS WITH THE LORETTO POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE DISPATCHED TO THE QUIK MART IN REFERENCE TO A VEHICLE THAT HAD BEEN TAKEN.  A BOLO WAS ISSUED AND THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL MADE CONTACT WITH THE VEHICLE IN SUMMERTOWN WHICH REFUSED TO STOP AND EVENTUALLY CRASHED IN THE EDGE OF LEWIS COUNTY. A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE BY LORETTO OFFICERS RESULTED IN THE DISCOVERY OF APPROXIMATELY 20 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE. THE VEHICLE WAS IMPOUNDED IN LORETTO AND AFTER RECEIVING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ANOTHER COMPARTMENT WAS FOUND ALONG WITH AND ADDITIONAL 23 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE. THE INVESTIGATION IS STILL OPEN AND ARRESTS ARE PENDING.
