THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION BOARD HAS NAMED A NEW DIRECTOR.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, ALESHA HARRIS, WILL TAKE THE PLACE OF JENNY GOLDEN WHO RESIGNED IN FEBRUARY AFTER ACCEPTING A NEW POSITION AS LAWRENCE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM'S COORDINATED SCHOOL HEALTH DIRECTOR. GOLDEN LED THE COALITION SINCE 20216 AND HARRIS HAS SPENT THE PREVIOUS FOUR YEARS AS THE PREVENTION SPECIALIST AND CHILD PROTECTIVE INVESTIGATIVE TEAM COORDINATOR FOR KID'S PLACE. HARRIS ADVISED SHE HOPES TO HELP MAKE LAWRENCE COUNTY A SAFER, HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER PLACE TO CALL HOME FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.  HER OFFICIAL FIRST DAY WAS MARCH 16TH.
