THE MAJORITY OF LAWRENCE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OFFICES WILL REOPEN MONDAY, JUNE 1 FOR BUSINESS AS USUAL, 8 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M. WE ASK FOR YOUR PATIENCE AS WE ALL WORK THROUGH THIS NEW PHASE TOGETHER.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALL OFFICES IS TO MAINTAIN SIX FEET OF DISTANCE BETWEEN YOURSELF AND OTHERS AND WEAR A FACE MASK IF POSSIBLE. SPLATTER GUARDS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AT THE COUNTERS OF SEVERAL OFFICES.

SPECIFIC GUIDANCE FOR OTHER OFFICES AND BUILDINGS INCLUDE:

COURTHOUSE - YOUR TEMPERATURE WILL BE TAKEN BEFORE YOU ENTER THE BUILDING AND MASKS ARE AVAILABLE AS LONG AS SUPPLIES LAST. COURT APPEARANCES ARE BEING SCHEDULED AND ONLY 10 RESIDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN A COURTROOM AT A TIME. JURY TRIALS ARE SUSPENDED THROUGH JULY 3.

RECYCLING – BEGINNING JUNE 1, THESE MATERIALS CAN BE TAKEN TO THE TRANSFER STATION AT 2126 BALER DRIVE, LAWRENCEBURG, BUT NOT TO RECYCLING DROP-OFF POINTS AT LOCAL SCHOOLS. THESE WILL REOPEN JUNE 15, BUT WE ASK THAT MATERIALS NOT BE LEFT OUTSIDE THEM IF THEY ARE FULL. WASTE CARDBOARD PICKUP SERVICE AT LOCAL INDUSTRIES AND BUSINESSES ALSO BEGINS JUNE 1, BUT THE VOLUME AT SOME MAY REQUIRE SEVERAL TRIPS.

PUBLIC LIBRARY – CURBSIDE SERVICE IS AVAILABLE AT BOTH LOCATIONS. YOU MAY CALL TO REQUEST A SPECIFIC BOOK OR ALLOW LIBRARIANS TO CHOOSE BOOKS IN A PARTICULAR GENRE FOR YOU. THE CARD CATALOG CAN BE ACCESSED AT WWW.LAWCOLIBRARY.ORG AND CAN TELL YOU IF A BOOK IS ALREADY CHECKED OUT, AND WHICH BRANCH HOUSES IT. EXTENSION SERVICE – ONE STAFF MEMBER WILL BE IN THE OFFICE BUT DOORS REMAIN CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH JUNE 8. IF THERE IS NO SPIKE IN COVID-19 CASES, DOORS WILL BE OPEN WITH LIMITED STAFF PRESENT. AFTER TWO MORE WEEKS WITH NO SPIKE IN CASES, NORMAL OPERATIONS BEGIN.
