A WAYNE COUNTY WOMAN WAS ARRESTED OVER THE WEEKEND AFTER A LAWRENCE COUNTY K-9 ALERTED POSITIVE FOR DRUGS IN HER VEHICLE. ACCORDING TO REPORTS, A LAWRENCE COUNTY DEPUTY STOPPED OUT WITH A VEHICLE ON SUNDAY AFTER OBSERVING A WANTED  INDIVIDUAL DRIVING BY. WHEN THE DEPUTY CAUGHT UP WITH THE VEHICLE, IT WAS PARKED AND THE DRIVER WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET IN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. JOSHUA THORNEBERRY, 41, WAS DETAINED FOR AN ACTIVE VIOLATION OF PROBATION WARRANT. THE DRIVER, CINDY JAMES, 40 OF WAYNESBORO, ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS HERS AND AFTER AN ALERT FROM K-9 A SEARCH WAS CONDUCTED WHICH YIELDED 6 BAGGIES WITH APPROXIMATELY 11.78 GRAMS OF A CRYSTAL LIKE SUBSTANCE BELIEVED TO BE METHAMPHETAMINE AND A GLASS PIPE. JAMES WAS ARRESTED AND FACES CHARGES OF POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II FOR RESALE AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. BOTH WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE LAWRENCE COUNTY JAIL.
