OFFICIALS WITH LAUDERDALE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM IN ALABAMA HAVE ANNOUNCED THAT STUDENTS WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO CLASSES ON AUGUST 7TH AS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED. THE TIMES DAILY REPORTS, STUDENTS WILL BE RETURNING AUGUST 17TH TO ALLOW FOR GREATER PREPARATION. TEACHERS WILL RETURN TO SCHOOL AUG. 4 TO PREPARE THEIR CLASSROOMS AND ONLINE COURSE MATERIALS, AND RECEIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING. IN ADDITION TO TRADITIONAL IN-PERSON EDUCATION, THE DISTRICT WILL ALSO OFFER AN ONLINE LEARNING OPTION.
