A TRAFFIC STOP RESULTED IN AN ARREST LATE LAST WEEK IN LAWRENCE COUNTY.  ACCORDING TO REPORTS, A DEPUTY WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT INITIATED THE STOP ON RABBIT TRAIL ROAD ON WEDNESDAY AFTER A VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AT AN INTERSECTION. THE DRIVER, IDENTIFIED AS KELSEY CLAYTON, HAD AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT OUT OF LAWRENCE COUNTY. THE PASSENGER, MADISON WEATHERS, WAS FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A CRYSTAL LIKE SUBSTANCE BELIEVED TO BE METHAMPHETAMINE AND A WHITE POWDER SUBSTANCE BELIEVED TO BE A CRUSHED OXYCODONE PILL. BOTH ITEMS WILL BE SENT OFF FOR TESTING AND CHARGES ARE PENDING AWAITING RESULTS.
