THE MAURY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION MET IN A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MONDAY TO REVIEW THE DISTRICT'S PLAN TO REOPEN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM IN AUGUST.  ACCORDING TO THE DAILY HERALD, SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT MICHAEL HICKMAN ADVISED BOARD MEMBERS AND THOSE IN ATTENDANCE THAT EACH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL WILL BE DRAFTING THEIR OWN SCHOOL PROCEDURES BASED ON THE OUTLINE SET BY THE CENTRAL OFFICE AND ARE EXPECTED BY THE WEEK OF JULY 23RD. HE WENT ON TO ADVISE THAT SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS WILL BE PRESENTING A PLAN THAT WILL ALSO ALLOW STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION IF SCHOOLS WERE TO CLOSE. THE BOARD IS SCHEDULED TO MEET AGAIN ON JULY 20TH.
