LAWRENCEBURG MAYOR BLAKE LAY WAS RECENTLY ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE TENNESSEE MUNICIPAL LEAGUE DURING THEIR ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING. LAY WAS ONE OF EIGHT DISTRICT DIRECTORS ELECTED TO REPRESENT THIS SECTION OF THE STATE. THE T-M-L IS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1940 AND REPRESENTS 99 PERCENT OF TENNESSEE'S MUNICIPAL CITIZENS. THE ORGANIZATION ADVOCATES FOR NEEDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, REPRESENTS MUNICIPAL INTERESTS BEFORE STATE DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES, AND SEEKS TO INFLUENCE FEDERAL LEGISLATION AND POLICIES AFFECTING MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS—WORKING THROUGH THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
