ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, IF THE DECISION IS MADE TO OPEN, FAIR ORGANIZERS HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS YEAR'S FAIR WILL BE AN OUTDOOR ONLY EVENT.  INDOOR EVENTS INCLUDING FAIREST OF THE FAIR PAGEANTS, INDOOR COMMERCIAL EXHIBITS, AND INDOOR AGRICULTURAL AND CREATIVE ARTS EXHIBITS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY.  OUTDOOR EVENTS INCLUDING THE WADE SHOWS MIDWAY, ARENA EVENTS, FOOD BOOTHS, LIVESTOCK SHOWS AND OTHER OUTDOOR ATTRACTIONS WILL OPERATE SUBJECT TO SOCIAL DISTANCING AND OTHER PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES. FAIR ORGANIZERS HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THEIR CARNIVAL PROVIDER WILL BE TAKING EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES TO MINIMIZE COVID EXPOSURE ON THE MIDWAY, AND ADDITIONAL STEPS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED AT ENTRANCE GATES, OUTSIDE VENUES, AND PUBLIC RESTROOMS.  FAIRGOERS WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR MASKS DURING THEIR VISIT AND A DECISION ON WHETHER MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL VISITORS WILL BE MADE AT A LATER DATE.  FAIR ORGANIZERS ARE CAREFULLY MONITORING THE COVID 19 HEALTH SITUATION AND THE M-T-D-F AND ROTARY CLUB WILL MAKE A RESPONSIBLE DECISION ON WHETHER OR NOT TO OPEN WELL BEFORE OPENING DAY.
