THE MURDER TRIAL FOR A MAN ACCUSED OF SHOOTING AND KILLING A RETIRED CORRECTIONS OFFICER IN FLORENCE HAS BEEN DELAYED AFTER THE DEFENSE ATTORNEY COLLAPSES.
ACCORDING TO THE TIMES DAILY, FLORENCE ATTORNEY JEAN DARBY, WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF HER CLOSING ARGUMENTS, IN THE TRIAL AGAINST ALFONSO JARMON, THIS MORNING (THURSDAY MORNING) WENT SHE COLLAPSED. SECONDS LATER, A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER BEGAN DOING CHEST COMPRESSIONS AND ONE OF THE JURORS, A REGISTERED NURSE, BEGAN CPR. THE JUDGE DISMISSED THE JURY AT AROUND 10:30 AFTER DARBY WAS TRANSPORTED TO ELIZA COFFEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WHERE SHE IS UNDERGOING A BATTERY OF TESTS.
