A LAUDERDALE COUNTY MAN WAS ARRESTED LATE LAST WEEK ON DRUG CHARGES FOLLOWING A PURSUIT. MEDIA SOURCES REPORT, A DEPUTY WITH THE WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ATTEMPTED TO STOP A VEHICLE ON FRIDAY FOR A NON FUNCTIONING TAIL LIGHT. THE DRIVER REFUSED TO STOP AND A PURSUIT ENSUED UNTIL THE VEHICLE HIT A TREE. THE DRIVER THEN EXITED THE VEHICLE AND FLED ON FOOT. THE PASSENGER, JESSEE NARION PRICE, 35, OF FLORENCE, WAS PULLED FROM THE VEHICLE AT WHICH TIME A BAG CONTAINING 3.8 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE ALLEGEDLY FELL FROM HIS LAP.  IN ADDITION .5 GRAMS OF HEROIN AND ANOTHER BAG CONTAINING .5 GRAMS OF METH WAS ALSO FOUND.  DEPUTIES THEN LOCATED ON THE GROUND ANOTHER BAG CONTAINING 1.1 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE, A BROKEN SET OF SCALES, A NEEDLE AND SYRINGE, AND A SMALL SPOON, WHICH WAS THROWN OUT OF THE VEHICLE. PRICE WAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II METHAMPHETAMINE WITH INTENT, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I HEROIN WITH INTENT, AND FELONY POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. HE WAS BOOKED INTO THE WAYNE COUNTY JAIL ON A 160,000 THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND.
