WITH SCHOOLS BEING CLOSED ALL THANKSGIVING WEEK, THEN A LITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS FOR CHRISTMAS BREAK , THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER WILL BE HOSTING A FOOD DRIVE FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES TO HELP KIDS AND FAMILIES DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON. THE COLLECTION IS GOING ON NOW AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, LEAVING ONE WEEK TO SORT AND PACK THE DONATIONS FOR DISTRIBUTION PRIOR TO THANKSGIVING BREAK. SCHOOL COUNSELORS ARE BEING ASKED TO COMPILE LISTS OF STUDENTS WHO MAY NEED THIS ASSISTANCE. PARENTS WILL COME TO THEIR RESPECTIVE SCHOOLS TO PICK UP THE FOOD BOXES, OR THEY CAN BE DELIVERED IF NECESSARY. DONATIONS CAN BE TAKEN TO ANY SCHOOL, SELECT CHURCHES AND BUSINESSES, AND THE J.C. BARNETT CENTER AT 700 MAHR AVENUE, LAWRENCEBURG. SUGGESTED ITEMS INCLUDE BOXED FOOD, CANNED FRUITS/VEGGIES, RAMEN NOODLES, CANNED SAUCE, RICE, PASTA, JUICE, SNACKS AND PEANUT BUTTER.
