THE PULASKI BOARD OF MAYOR AND ALDERMEN MET IN REGULAR SESSION TODAY. LEADERS ENTERTAINED A LENGTHY AGENDA IN WHICH ALL ITEMS WERE VOTED ON AND APPROVED. AMONG THE ITEMS INCLUDED A RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE APPROXIMATELY 300 THOUSAND DOLLARS OWED ON THE IDB PANELS. ONCE PAID, REVENUE FROM THE PANELS MINUS EXPENSES WILL BE SPLIT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE COUNTY. A BID FOR POLICE CARS WAS AWARDED TO SHARP MOTOR COMPANY AND BIDS WERE OPENED FOR THE SPLASH PAD IN WHICH FOUR WERE RECEIVED AND IT WAS VOTED TO REFER THE BIDS TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO REVIEW AND TO AWARD. ONE BID WAS RECEIVED FOR NORTH FIRST STREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR PHASE II WHICH CONSISTS OF THOMAS STREET UP TO 31A. MEMBERS VOTED TO ACCEPT AND AWARD THE SINGLE BID FROM WATKINS CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF 322,398 DOLLARS. AN AMENDMENT TO THE BEER ORDINANCE ALSO PASSED AFTER DISCUSSIONS WHICH CLARIFIES THAT ALCOHOL CAN BE SOLD AT BUSINESSES AND ESTABLISHMENTS ON THE PULASKI SQUARE AND THAT BEER PERMIT HOLDERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO SECURE A SEPARATE BEER PERMIT FOR SPECIAL EVENTS. A PUBLIC HEARING WILL TAKE PLACE ON JANUARY 26TH AT 12:05 BEFORE THE SECOND READING. THE AUTHORIZING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A CDBG BLOCK GRANT AND WATER AND SEWER DEBT ISSUANCE ALSO SAW MUCH FAVOR AS DID THE AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A SEWAGE PUMPING STATION REPLACEMENT. BEFORE ADJOURNING MAYOR PAT FORD MADE APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS AND REMINDED OFFICIALS OF THE STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION ON FEBRUARY 6TH AT 8 TO BE HELD AT PULASKI CITY HALL.
