THE MAN ACCUSED OF SHOOTING TWO FRIENDS AND KILLING THE MOTHER OF HIS TWO CHILDREN BACK IN JULY OF 2019, WAS FOUND GUILTY LAST WEEK AND SENTENCED TO LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE BY A MAURY COUNTY JURY.  SAMUEL MODINE, WAS FOUN GUILTY OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER, FELONY MURDER, 2 COUNTYS OF ATTEMPTED FIRST-DEGREE MURDER, FELON IN POESSESSION OF A FIREARM, FLEONY RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT. THE TRIAL LASTED FOUR DAYSA AND PROCUTERS PRESENTED EVIDENCE OF THE HAPPENING ON JULY 26TH, 2019, WHEN MODINE SHOT ALICIA MANNING, HANNAH WARD AND EDDIE ANDERSON AS THEY WERE SLEEPING. MODINE THEN CALLED 911 ADVISING HE HAD SHOT THREE PEOPLE. ANDERSON DIED OF INJURIES FROM THAT EVENING. THE JURY TOOK LESS THAN AN HOUR TO DELIBERTE TO REACH THE VERDICT OF GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS. BASED ON MODINE’S PRIOR CRIMINAL RECORD, DURING THE SENTENCING PHASE, THE JURY SENTENCED TO LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE ON THE COUNT OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER.
